For the Lady I Met at Vernal Falls

A short Poem

A photo taken by myself at Vernal Falls on Memorial Day weekend, May 27th 2018.

At first so faint — your delicate laughter.

Turning the corner, the frills
of your dress held the sunlight in suspense
before shattering about your feet.

Oh, siren — were I to have leapt into your arms.

Finding myself there with your blazing
infinity, I watched the rainbows glistening
atop your graceful shoulders.

And yet ever so gentle — the mist of your kisses.

Then your spell beset me; In love with your thunder,
I felt your fingertips on my lips
so poorly reflecting your brilliant smile.
